Principal's Message

Greetings Falcon Community,

Serving as the principal of Cameron Ranch Elementary for a fifth year brings great joy and purpose to my soul. Our school community has gone through many changes and challenges over the past several years, which whole-heartedly illuminated our incredible strength and sense of pride. Collectively, we have leaned into our unity by honestly and authentically engaging with one another through partnerships with our students, families, staff and the community. We have designed, and will continue to build, unique and creative spaces that aim to educate the whole child through these early years in their learning journey. Thank you for joining me on this ride!

This year we will dig deeper into The Power of Place and all the intersections required to build a strong sense of community within our school family. We will examine how our collective power helps us all rise together.

More specifically,

The power of place to create safe and welcoming environments.

The power of place to craft culturally responsive lessons and practices.

The power of place to connect and engage in meaningful conversations.

The power of place to plant seeds of hope, prosperity, empowerment and abundance.

The power of place to anchor our work into inclusive practices for all learners.

The power of place to honor the tapestry of cultures that fill our beautiful school.

The power of place to share our stories as a vehicle to learn from one another.

The power of place to cultivate academic confidence and curiosity.

The power of place to bridge resources with community partners to support our vision.

The power of place to provide experiential hands-on learning spaces for our students.

To further strengthen this work, students are guided by adults who want to see them soar. Throughout the day, students practice and develop age appropriate skills to build emotional regulation and a sense of peace from within. All staff work with students to develop skills through creative programs, mindfulness, restorative conversations, and inclusive practices. Our academic programs go beyond the school building and into the world, as we provide grade-level specific field trip experiences throughout the school year. Academics are aligned to individual students’ needs, with varied hands-on learning opportunities, and targeted professional development is implemented to prepare and support staff to make the most of our shared learning culture.

My wish is for everyone connected to Cameron Ranch to discover ways to get involved in our school for the collective purpose of supporting the learning across campus and in every classroom. By working together we can provide school activities that are engaging and exciting. I am personally inviting community partners, staff, families, and students to get involved in our campus community by joining CREATE (Cameron Ranch Elementary Action Teams for Education). Participation in the CREATE community has positive outcomes for our students, including increased family engagement and the opportunity to support the campus community through learning activities and special events. Some of our popular CREATE teams support school assemblies, field trips, our Garden of Learning, literacy night, the talent show, career day, the cultural fair, and more!

I look forward to soaring with you this school year!

Together as Falcons,
